We are a Business and Community Psychology practice which focuses on Social Inclusion. Our service covers both training and consultancy in four main areas. We carry out access audits advising businesses to comply with the Disability legislation which comes into force 1st October 2004. The audit service is carried out by qualified auditors with personal experience of disabilities, who not only help businesses become compliant they can improve the bottom line by increasing their market share of customers. See our access audit service page for details on how it affects your business. Our ten day Access Audit Practitioner training programme focuses on training individuals to become professional Access Auditors. This training programme covers all aspects of diversity and why it is important to your business or service. The concept is delivered from a psychological perspective which is very different and people have commented on it's unique approach. Please see the diversity page for details. Social InclusionThe 21st century is already proving to be a time of great change for individuals and business. The very survival of any organisation or individual within any sector may well depend on their ability to be creative and engage in innovative practices. The understanding of the issues surrounding equality, social inclusion, diversity and anti-oppressive practices has never been so important. A single person's brilliance or single group's view is no longer enough of a basis for success. The successes of tomorrow will be the forward thinking of people who embrace the concept of Social Inclusion and harness the energy and benefits that both that and Diversity can offer. No organisation can benefit from Diversity unless it is inclusive; what is essential is a structured, systematic approach and process to achieve this. This is why we feel so passionately about the issues and why having a Social Inclusion and Diversity strategy is so very important. The power and range of these benefits cannot be stressed enough, any business wanting to survive will need to engage with this process and then all will have an opportunity to experience these benefits. Being complacent is not enough, we have to challenge and embrace anti-discriminatory and anti-oppressive practices. In the past recreating 'what has gone before' used to suffice but this is no longer the case. We at Gallant2000 Ltd have a deep knowledge, understanding and experience of the issues that may hold organisations and individuals back from fully entering into social inclusive practices. The process used has been tried and tested with a proven track record using various approaches including a Business and Community Psychology framework. Working and researching in this area means that we face constant challenges but we are also inspired and motivated by by our experiences. DiversityThe whole field of Diversity and Equality is still emergent and unstable. This is what makes it so exciting. Here we have a way of not only reducing social injustice but also of increasing our own performance and releasing potential across all sectors. This has huge implications for all of us. We all want to improve and develop and here is a vibrant and dynamic framework that stimulates this growth. An effective way forward for us all, is to unleash the power of Diversity and acknowledge that greater strength is produced by harnessing difference. Diversity must be seen to be a positive force, one that is inspirational, visionary and embraces individual and organisational codes of ethics. This is reflected in our Diversity programmes, and particularly our Diversity Practitioners Course. Anti-Discriminatory and Anti-Oppressive PracticesThese are themes that run throughout all of our workshops and projects. It is our view that these themes are vital in translating the theories and practices of Diversity and Social Inclusion to promote true equality. The test has to be does our actions and behaviours generate social justice, reduce or work towards eradicating discrimination, oppression and prejudice and creating social stability and equality. Psychology of Social Inclusion and EqualityThis is the application of the theories and research findings from Psychology to Social Inclusion. This by its nature is quite theoretical but the applications are powerful and practical. How it all fits together... |
